On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, Wakate no Yoake 2026 held its brewery selection round at NEWoMan TAKANAWA MIMURE near Takanawa Gateway in Tokyo. Sixty-one young breweries from across Japan entered, and a panel of nine judges led by chief judge Marie Chiba (owner of EUREKA!) selected 40 breweries through blind tastings. Combined with the automatic entries of 2025's top-10 breweries by sales, the full lineup of 50 participating breweries has now been finalized.
The event runs Wednesday, September 30 through Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Otemachi Nakadori and Uchikanda Nakadori Plaza in Chiyoda, Tokyo. Alongside 50 domestic breweries (25 breweries across two rotating halves), overseas breweries will also take part, with total attendance over the five days expected to reach 10,000. Profiles of each participating brewery, their sake, and their path through the selection round will be published progressively on Instagram (@sakejump).
